What Is Direct Billing?

Direct billing allows Massage Square to submit eligible claims to your insurance provider on your behalf. Depending on your plan and the insurer’s response, your policy may cover some or all of the cost of your treatment.

Coverage varies by insurance provider and individual policy. You may still be responsible for an outstanding balance, and some plans require additional documents or a physician’s referral.

Payment Information on File

Massage Square offers direct billing to various insurance providers. For your convenience, we require a valid credit card or Visa Debit card to be kept on file for any charges not covered by your insurance provider. This information will be collected during your first visit.

How Outstanding Balances Are Handled

Your payment method on file will not be charged for the outstanding balance until your insurance provider has processed the claim and informed Massage Square of the amount remaining. Our staff will then contact you to explain the amount not covered and obtain your authorisation using your preferred method of payment, so the transaction can be completed at your convenience.

Physician’s Referral

Some insurance providers require a physician’s referral for massage therapy. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm its documentation requirements. If a doctor’s note or referral is required, allow your insurer adequate time to process the documentation before your treatment date.

Multiple Insurance Providers

If you have more than one insurance provider, your primary insurer may not allow certain claims to be submitted to secondary insurance. Additional documents or confirmation may be required. In these circumstances, you may need to submit the remaining balance to your secondary insurance provider yourself. Thank you for your understanding.

A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way.

Your Coverage

Ask your insurance provider about your available massage therapy benefits, coverage limits, eligibility, and any applicable conditions.

Required Documents

Check whether your plan requires a physician’s referral, doctor’s note, or other documentation before your appointment.

Your Remaining Balance

Remember that coverage may be partial. Review the payment policy and make sure you understand how any outstanding balance will be handled.

Important: The availability of direct billing does not guarantee that your insurance provider will cover the full cost of your appointment.
